We are currently searching for a Senior Accountant for our Newmarket office.

We strive to be proactive in advising our clients on new opportunities, and informing them of new government programs, benefits, and tax changes, while embracing the newest technology.

Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing Compilation Engagements from start to finish
• Preparing and reviewing corporate and personal tax returns
• Supervising and training junior staff
• Responding to queries and requests from clients
• Assisting with Review and Audit Engagements from time to time
• Managing and taking on new business requests

Qualifications:

• CPA designation
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience at a Canadian Public Accounting firm
• Extensive experience with preparing Compilation Engagements and associated corporate tax returns, including communicating with clients throughout the process
• Substantial knowledge of personal income tax rules and issues. The ability to collect personal tax information, communicate with clients, and input personal tax return information
• The ability to research complicated tax issues, provide suggestions, and discuss options
• Experience in assisting or completing Review and Audit Engagements
• Knowledge of CaseWare (CaseView is a plus), QuickBooks
• Experience with Profile or Tax Prep

Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 a year
